Cleaning Make Up Brushes

Brushes play an essential part in my daily makeup routine. From eyebrows to lips I use a brush for every product I apply to my face! I have more make up brushes than the average person. Some brand new and some that haven't been used yet. Nothing feels or looks better than a brand new brushes! Am I right? However after a while they get clogged up and you end up with marks in your foundation from where the the brush bristles are stuck together. That's when you know you really need to clean your brushes!

Although it is recommended you clean your brushes once a week I am the first to admit I don't do this weekly! How do you clean your makeup brushes? If you ask anyone how to clean make up brushes there is a 90% chance they will say baby shampoo or any other form of liquid soap. They do work but I find it never removes the product in the middle of the brush and doesn't get the end result I truly want.

However taking inspiration from the Revolutions 'pro-hygiene solid brush cleaner' (which retails at £5.00) I use a bar of body shop coconut soap to clean my brushes and I absolutely love the end result! It leaves my brushes nice and soft and the brushes look as new! Its so simple to use. All you need to do is put the bar of soap under warm running water and swirl the brush, you would like to clean, on the bar of soap a few times. Once clean wash any remaining soap off the brush and leave to dry.

I cannot recommend this process more. It has revolutionised cleaning make up brushes. It is no longer a time consuming task. I just need to remember to do it more! Do you have any tips for cleaning your make up brushes?

Netflix Shows I love to watch

It's that time of year where i only get to see the daylight from the office window. And I find myself spending most of my nights under my duvet watching Netflix, which is never a bad thing as there are so many good shows on Netflix right now. I have so many favourite shows to be watching on Netflix right now that I thought I would write a post and share them with you beautiful people

1. Designated Survivor is only in first season but new episodes are uploaded every week directly to Netflix in the UK. It's definitely worth a watch it stars Keifer Sutherland and Italia Ricci. The story line is based around the US government after the capital building is blown up by a terrorist attack killing 99% of congress.

2. Gilmore Girls are back with 4 new Netflix exclusive episodes. As someone who has just only recently binge watched all of the seven previous seasons I was so excited to watch the new episodes! There were so many unanswered questions which were nearly all answered. But then it finished and I had more questions! Fingers crossed there will be another season.

3. Reign I only started watching Reign because  the TV show I was binge watching at the time had finished. I saw this show and thought I would watch one episode and be bored within 5 minutes. I was wrong. I was hooked. I cannot recommend this show more! I am absolutely gutted that the last ever season is about to air.

4. Witches of East End I got into this show recently and managed to watch both series in weekend! It's very similar to Charmed so if you like that then this definitely worth a watch. Unfortunately it has been cancelled which is such a shame. The show stars Mädchen Amick, Julia Ormond, Rachel Boston and Jenna Dewan Tatum.

These shows are my top 4 tv shows at the moment. Other favourites include Mr Selfridge, How I Met Your Mother, The Crown and Gossip Girl. What are your favourite Netflix shows?

Bloggers Hub Meet & Greet

Two weeks ago I was lucky enough to go to the Blogger hub meet & greet in Soho London. The event was hosted in an apartment just off Oxford street. It was an opportunity to meet a mix of bloggers, who were new to blogging and those who had been in blogging for a while to meet and network. The meet and greet was hosted by The Bloggers Hub and Bloggers Who Brunch. I went up on my own to the meet up and I was anxious wether this event would actually be for me. But from the minute I arrived outside and met other bloggers I was totally at ease!

The lovely ladies at The Bloggers Hub and Bloggers Who Brunch went to so much effort to make this event as amazing as it was. There were cupcakes from Lola's Cupcakes with little Bloggers hub labels and glasses of pink prosecco. They also had two ladies from WAH! Nails who were doing manicures. The whole afternoon was spent socialising with other bloggers. It was such a great experience and I'm so glad I went! It was a really great opportunity to meet like minded people.

As someone who keeps on dipping in and out of blogging this event has inspired me so much to stick to blogging. I spent the next day just writing up posts. I definitely plan on going to more blogger meet ups because of this meet up!

You should definitely make sure to go visit these amazing bloggers! You wont be disappointed!

Hotel Chocolat Subscription Box

I love monthly subscription boxes. It's like giving yourself a present every month. You never know what you are going to get with each box. So when I saw that Hotel Chocolat did a monthly subscription box you can imagine my excitement. I mean a monthly subscription box of chocolate? What girl wouldn't like that?

With the subscription box you have so much choice! You can choose how often you want to receive. The options go from weekly to every 12 weeks. They also offer different types of boxes. So if you don't like nuts or alcohol you can opt to have a box that doesn't contain nuts or alcohol. If you love dark chocolate then they have a box with nothing but dark chocolate. And if you like a little bit of everything they have a box for that too.

I started off with the 'Everything M' box on a weekly subscription which came with 4 different chocolates to try. Which you got two chocolates per flavour. I didn't want to commit to a big box straight away.

Overall the whole ordering process was pretty easy. There were only two things that actually I would want to have changed. The first being that you don't actually pay for the box until it's arrived. I personally would have preferred payment when I placed the order because I'm the type of person that gets really nervous that I didn't place the order. Second being that you didn't receive any dispatch email letting you know your box is on its way. Which just would have been nice to know when it was coming.

Now let's get onto the chocolates? I'm going to start with my least favourite first and finish with my favourite.

FLORENTINE ISABELLE

The Florentine Isabelle contained almonds which I absolutely can't stand but I gave it a go anyway. I didn't hate it but I just felt that there wasn't anything that made it stand out to me. For this chocolate I have given it one star out of five,

CARAMEL CHEESECAKE

The Caramel Cheesecake was really nice but if anything just a little bit to sweet. So I dont think it is the type or chocolate you could eat a whole box in one go. One at a time is really enough. I think that this chocolate would be a perfect gift for a dinner party.

PINK CHAMPAGNE TRUFFLE

The Pink Champagne Truffle is very close second place. With a hard outter shell and a creamy centre this really was a luxcurious chocolate. There was a hint of strawberry which only added to the flavour. This truffle is the perfect gift for every chocolate and champagne lover.

DIZZY PRALINE

With every box you can choose a 'superstar' chocolate. Dizzy Praline is my superstar of the box. I love praline chocolate. This chocolate is my favourite by far. It tasted very similar to the green triangle chocolate from quality street but so much better, so much more creamier.

I can't wait to get my next box 💕 would you like to read more chocolate related posts?

Until next time

New in Beauty Drawer

Over the past year makeup has become an obsession for me. Recently I have started to transition over from drugstore makeup into more high end. Ever since I have started working full time I have started purchasing high end alternatives to update my makeup collection with. Today I thought I would share with you my recent purchases over the last three months.

Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution Lipstick // Shade: Love Liberty
This lipstick is very quickly becoming my must have autumnal shade. Its a really nice dark red shade which I think it will go amazing with tartan. Although its not a shade I would wear every day because I think it is too dark to wear to work. However I really love the formula of this lipstick and the rose gold packaging is so beautiful.

Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Pour Couture Lipstick // Shade: 09
The second lipstick I purchased is a dark pink shade. This shade is perfect if you want to wear a darker lipstick but you don't want to go to dark, This is definitely a shade I would wear to work when paired with the right outfit. As we transition from Autumn to Winter I will definitely start wearing to work a lot more.

Bobbi Brown Lipstick // Shade: 22 Sandwash Pink
I purchased this lipstick 3 weeks ago and already its my staple lipstick. The lipstick hasn't left my bag since I wear it everyday single day to work. Its a really nice nude pink shade that actually matches my skin tone. I really like the formula of this lipstick and I don' think that it is too drying.

Model Co Lipstick

At the start of this year I came across a new make up company called Model Co and I decided to try out one of their lipsticks. It is one of Model Co's party proof lipsticks and I have it in the shade Smitten. Since receiving it has become my all time favourite red lipstick.

I wore it on a night out last week and wow! Wow! WOWW! It was really easy to apply and it felt really creamy! I struggle so much with lipsticks because they usually feel really dry on my lips but this was the complete opposite!

Another thing I noticed about the lipstick is that it did actually stay on my lips! I applied it at 7 pm and I didn't have to reapply again till 12:30 am and when the party finished at 4am it was still on my lips if slightly faded! Also I found that it didn't leave a red lip print on the glasses I was drinking from which was amazing bonus.

Overall I've completely fallen in love with this lipstick and I can't wait to buy more of their lipsticks and to try some of their over products!

Are there any other lipsticks you would recommend??

Until next time
